Frequently Asked Questions

Scheduling & Sessions

How do I schedule a session?
Scheduling a session is as simple as contacting Jayson Prentice Photography with your desired range of dates and what type of session you are scheduling. You can contact me by using the 'Contact' link that is featured at the top of this page.

When are payments due?
Your session fees are due upon the scheduling of your session, this is a non-refundable fee that can be mailed or submitted in person. Upon a completed session and the purchase of images, one-half of the purchase total is due at that time. The other half of the purchase order will be accepted once the prints have been completed.

What happens if the weather is bad during my scheduled time?
With a majority of the sessions being done outdoors, there is a chance that less than ideal weather could occur during your scheduled time. If this does occur, or looks like it is going occur, you will be notified and a new time will be scheduled at no charge. If a rescheduled time cannot be made for both parties, a refund of your session fee will be given.

What should I bring to my session?
Besides yourself and maybe family, you should remember to bring any outfits that you may want to wear. The only negative with outfits would be running out, so bring more than you think you will ever need. If you wear glasses, be sure to have an empty set of frames to wear for your photo shoot. I also encourage you to bring props, such as athletic jerseys, or other things that show what you enjoy doing. And lastly, but maybe most important, bring a good attitude! You deserve to have fun and I promise to make it as fun and exciting as possible.

Purchasing & Shipping

How do I purchase prints online?
Online Ordering is currently unavailable, however it is scheduled to be implemented soon.

Can I order another way besides online?
Absolutely! If you've recently had a session with Jayson Prentice Photography feel free to use the Contact link above or the phone number was likely given to you during your session. I would be glad to include any additional prints with your original order if it has yet to be shipped, or schedule an appointment to receive additional prints.

How much does shipping cost?
Shipping costs are stated when you are completing your online order, most orders are charged a simple flat-rate fee of $5.95 to have them shipped to your door-step.

Can I pick-up my order?
Yes, you can pick-up your online order by choosing the 'Pick-up' option while checking out. In order to pick-up your purchase you will have to make an appointment, you will be contacted after your order has been completed as to when this can be done.

What are the extra fees/taxes when ordering online?
When ordering online, I use paypal to accept money orders, credit cards, etc. to provide not only a safe and secure transaction for me, but for you as well. This service is not provided free, therefore there is an additional 4% 'tax' that is included on all online purchases.

Why are some prints of the same size priced differently?
The price of a print is not based on print cost alone. Instead the price is based off of a number of factors including print cost, editing time, etc. Most noticeable differences are between athletic print prices and portrait print prices. The difference is due to the amount of time in editing and proofing all of the image of a portrait session compared to that of an athletic session.

Printing (Sizes & Cropping, etc.)

My print size isn't shown?
If your requested print size is not shown within the pricing tables please contact me with information on what you wish to have printed. The size requested along with which image you wish to have printed should be included within the email.

How are images cropped?
Dependent on what size of print is purchased, some cropping may occur. Each photo is cropped by hand to ensure that the bulk of subject material remains in the picture, most often the portions cropped will be background/foreground material. If you wish to request a specific crop please include this information during your purchase.

Printing Options (Paper, Textures, etc.)

Lustre Prints are featured on Kodak Professional Endura paper, they are often referred too as 'semi-gloss' prints. These prints feature a 'matte' look, which allows for easy viewing and no glare unlike usual prints and is considered to be the choice of professional photograhers.

Lustre w/ Texture prints have the same features as the basic lustre prints, however these are printed and given a slight texture to the photo. The texture provided is your choice; this feature is great to display prints without having to put any glass in front them.

Glossy Prints are also featured on Kodak Professional Endura paper. As the name implies they feature a glossy finish that allows for a sheen, sometimes reflective look.

Metallic Prints feature a glossy finish and metallic appearance that provides striking, three-dimensional looking images that are ultra-bright. Many people relate it to 'chrome on paper'.

3/4" Standouts are featured on a thick, lightweight board that is finished with a 3/4" black plastic edge. Hanging holes on the backside make these ready to hang on any wall.

Fine Art Canvas images are printed directly onto the canvas, instead of bonded to it like many others. The canvas is a fine art substrate that features a protective coating to give the image a slight matte appearance. This coating will also protect the image from scratches, scuffs, and even UV rays.

Gallery Wraps are printed on a canvas, larger than the final size. They are stretched over a thick wooden stretcher bar and stapled in the back, framing paper than covers the back and metal hangers/bumpers are applied to the corners. This is ready to hang and provides an amazing 3d type image for your wall.

Styrene board is featured on the landscape and other fine art prints, it is a white, 2 mm thick plastic mounting board that allows for a rigid back for any size print.
