Unsuccessful Storm Chase with Sunset Ending

June 25, 2016 initially showed signs of thunderstorms developing in NW IA.  However by late afternoon, it was obvious that wasn’t going to happen anytime soon.  Mother nature did attempt on a couple of occasions to develop thunderstorms to no avail.

On my scenic and LONG drive home from the Storm Lake area, myself and fellow chaser/photo Willard Sharp were treated to a spectacular sunset near a wind farm.  Below are a few pics from that day.  300+ miles was a long way to drive for a sunset, but it was definitely worth it.
